Not a day goes by without me being awestruck by the fabulous staff, trustees and volunteers at Phoenix – their patience, dedication, creativity and resilience is inspiring!
In many ways my life experience to-date has been preparing me for this role at Phoenix. It starts with my beloved Grandmère who founded Cluny Farm in South Africa – a home for people with special needs. Visiting Cluny, we learnt first-hand that people are capable of so much more than they or their family thought possible. I trained as a Charted Accountant, hence I love a spreadsheet – which is useful in overseeing the charity forecasts and finances. Latterly I led the community and engagement activity at npower, where I loved developing our partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support. I’m hoping to develop similar partnerships between Phoenix and local businesses as this really maximises the benefits for both parties.
Outside of my work at Phoenix, I love hiking, holidays and sunshine.
