Chris Hunt Skelley MBE

Chris, former World Number 1 and Paralympic Judo Champion, has carved out an extraordinary legacy in sport. Diagnosed with Ocular Albinism at just 19, Chris turned adversity into triumph, becoming a global force in VI Judo. With a World Number One ranking, and a historic Paralympic gold medal in Tokyo and bronze in Paris, he stands as one of the most decorated and successful athletes in his field.

We are deeply honoured that Chris is our ambassador. Chris uses his platforms to help raise awareness of Phoenix’s work. “Phoenix is a safe haven for the people that go there. It’s a community hub for many people that struggle to fit in with society – which is why it’s got a special place in my heart. A charity like Phoenix would have made such a difference when I was going through my difficulties growing up and coming to terms with my disabilities.”
