Last week Louise and Mark headed out to help Michele get measured and design her new everyday wheelchair. Michele hasn't had a new chair for 17 years so this will truly make a huge difference to her everyday life and independence.
Special thanks to The Hearing & Mobility Store in Wroughton for all their help. We can't wait to see her new set of wheels very soon.

Hi, it's @kianconde again. I interviewed our new volunteer Sonia about her role at Phoenix.

Why have you come to volunteer in Phoenix Enterprises?

I had some mental health issues, after getting better I attended a job fair where I met Mark from Phoenix. He spoke to me about what they are into as a charity organisation supporting individuals in the community. Without thinking about it I decided to volunteer in Phoenix. I am currently working in the office getting service user feedback. It's a good experience for me and for other colleagues as they have the taste of a real life work experience and a learning curve. It's been amazing working with staff and other volunteers in Phoenix.

We are looking to recruit a trustee to join our Board, a voluntary position which offers so much. Whilst the position is unpaid, you will feel the rewards of being part of a charity that is making a real difference. We are committed to our objective of building the employability skills of our service users.

Applications for this trustee role are invited from people who are based in or near to Swindon who are able to attend the four Board meetings a year and have the time to make an effective contribution to our work.

Hi its Kian Conde. Today i spoke to Oliver a project manager and Maddy a programme manager from @bnpparibas_arval Arval - BNP Paribas car leasing company about their interest in volunteering at phoenix. And their response was fantastic. ❤ it's in their company policy that staff are to volunteer to support charity or nongovernmental organisations in the community they operate in for two days in every year. they have loved working here today, all the people have been so friendly. 😍

Training for Scafell Pike has officially begun. We braved the mud and brambles on a 7.65 mile circular walk from Birdlip with lots of up and down. we've all got a bit more work to do.

Cooking has gone well this week. The first two photo's are Graeme's work. He has been inspired to cook delicious healthy meals for himself at home. We all think it looks great.
Meanwhile, on the slow cooker course we have made chicken fajitas for next week and eaten the doner kebabs from last time.

Last week we got a bit messy and made doner kebab. We'll see how it compares to the real thing on Wednesday.
Then we ate the chilli we made the previous week and saw how people's tastes differ. Some people found it a bit spicy, others couldn't taste any spice at all.
